The team at Kindtagious keeps coming across incredible stories of real people doing really cool things. It drives us a little crazy that you basically have to go digging to find these headlines, while the bad stuff finds you no problem. So we’re flipping that. Every week we’ll send you three real people doing real good, plus one small thing you can go and do yourself.
Do you or someone you know have a kind story you’d like to share? We are featuring three stories from our community every week! Reply to this email and let us know!

| The Neighborhood Couple Swapping Grocery Bags Every Halloween |

“I have a Halloween story. We have tons of kids who trick-or-treat in our neighborhood, even from other areas. Usually, the adults in our street just set tables outside and greet the kiddos with candy, which is way better than opening and closing front doors.
I’m usually way too consumed with talking to the little ones in adorable costumes. But my husband noticed that some kids carried grocery bags instead of baskets or nicer bags.
So the following year, he bought 100 cute trick-or-treat bags, and whenever we saw kids with grocery bags or ones with holes/too small for more candy, we’d gently offer to trade our bags for theirs. They were delighted, and so were the parents.
I love that my husband had the perception to notice and immediately knew what he wanted to do going forward—a keeper indeed!”

| The Anonymous Elementary School Employee Writing Encouraging Notes to Staff |

“I’m an administrative assistant at an elementary school. From the principals and teachers to the support staff, many people play important roles in making each school day a success.
I love my job because I’m in the main office and I get to interact with everyone. So, I took a page out of the Kindtagious book and thought I’d write kindness notes for my coworkers.
I want everyone to know that they’re seen, important, and that they matter! I’m not doing them all at once, so I am keeping it anonymous. I write a few notes each week and put them into random mailboxes.
I’m keeping track of who gets one each week to make sure everyone has a note. I feel like if the note ends up in their mailbox, it was meant for them, even though I didn’t write them specifically for anyone.
Once I get through all 80 staff members, I’m not sure whether to start over with notes or do something a little different.
So far, I haven’t seen any ripples from this, but I am only in my second week. Who knows, maybe someone else will share it with kindness and encouragement as well. Either way, if it makes one person smile, it is worth it.”

“I was involved in a relatively severe car accident not too long ago, and it just so happened that my husband was away on work travel at the time.
The accident occurred on a residential street, and I was hit by a distracted driver. After the impact, my ears were ringing, and I was pretty disoriented when I noticed an older man at my passenger window.
He tapped on the glass, made sure I was okay, and stayed with me long after the police, paramedics, and tow truck gave us the all-clear and whisked the car away. My husband returned home from the airport, and the man introduced himself to him as well.
The gentleman told me I reminded him of his daughter, and that he hoped someone would do the same for his little girl if she were in trouble. He made the scary and stressful situation a little lighter, and I’ll always be grateful for his kindness.”
